The Joy of Thinking
I like thinking. I enjoy it when my mind becomes a clockwork of ideas, ticking like there's no tomorrow. What I don't get is people's constant desire NOT to think. Honestly, I don't know how my brain will stop its process of contemplation, but I guess most people have found a way of doing it. Maybe watching feel-good, no-brainer movies or bumming out to music. I'm not saying that people who do these don't think - they just send themselves to a sort of an escapist's paradise.
But, I'm not saying that escapism is bad. Our brains need a vacation too - but not the whole year! Its preposterous how people choose 13 going on 30 over City of God, or take on Britney Spears instead of Propagandhi. Its not right. Its cancer eating young people today. The brain stagnates when not used right? Imagine cobwebs tangling the very neurons that make your brain function - like a mathermatical correspondence or computer subroutine.
Anyway, the question is, how do we get young people to think?
